WHEREAS:

1. The voters of the State of California passed Proposition 204 on November 6, 1996 providing bond funding for the Delta Tributary Watershed Program.

2. This funding is available for watershed rehabilitation projects in eligible watersheds.

3. Informational staff workshops were held on January 30, 1997 and April 7, 1997 to solicit public participation and comment on the selection criteria and schedule for the RFP

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

The SWRCB:

1. Authorizes the Executive Director or his designee to release the RFP to solicit proposals for the Program.

2. Directs the Executive Director to prepare a recommended priority list of proposed projects for SWRCB consideration and approval.

3. Advises the Delta Tributary Watershed Advisory Committee and the Secretary of Resources to seriously consider prioritizing adequate funds for watershed and ecosystem restoration in the Trinity watershed (Siskiyou, Trinity, and Humboldt Counties) in recognition of the listings under the Endangered Species Act.

The undersigned, Administrative Assistant to the Board, does hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true, and correct copy of a resolution duly and regularly adopted at a meeting of the State Water Resources Control Board held on July 2, 1997.
