STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD
RESOLUTION NO. 99 – 111
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO
AN INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. GIOLOGICAL
SURVEY FOR AMBIENT GROUNDWATER MONITORING
WHEREAS:
1. The mission of the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) is to preserve and enhance the quality of California's water resources, and ensure their proper allocation and efficient use for the benefit of present and future generations.
2. Ambient water quality monitoring provides valuable information to assess the potential impacts of pollutants on the beneficial uses of water.
3. The State Legislature augmented SWRCB's Fiscal Year 1999-00 budget with $500,000 to conduct ambient water quality monitoring. The Legislature further directed SWRCB to contract with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for this activity.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The SWRCB authorizes the Executive Director or his designee to enter into an interagency agreement with USGS to conduct groundwater monitoring under contract for up to $450,000 in FY 1999-00.
