Project Name:

Turner Dam-San Antonio Reservoir Geotechnical Investigation
City/County:

Unincorporated, Alameda County
Comment Period:

09/30/2026 - 10/20/2026
Project Description:

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is in the process of developing the design for the Turner Dam/San Antonio Reservoir Improvements Project. The current project would inform the necessary design elements of the project with information gathered from geotechnical borings and other geological testing required by the California Division of Safety of Dams for seismic safety purposes. The proposed geotechnical investigation will facilitate investigating the substrata and collecting soil samples. The data collected will allow characterization of the embankment material and foundation materials under the embankment and at the other proposed locations. These will thereby inform potential remediation or upgrades that may be needed at the Turner Dam/San Antonio Reservoir embankment and appurtenant structures.
