Oil & Gas Monitoring Programs
Welcome to the State Water Resources Control Board's (State Water Board's) Oil and Gas Monitoring Program website. This program was initiated in 2014 to assess potential impacts to groundwater associated with well stimulation (hydraulic fracturing) activities. It now includes activities associated with oilfield produced water which includes underground injection control (UIC) and produced water ponds.
