Private Sewer Laterals and/or Private Sanitary Sewer Systems Incident Map
Private Lateral Spills are spill incidents reported by Sewer Collection System operators for which the Collection Systems are not legally responsible (e.g., third-party source spills which enter the Collection System pipelines). The data displayed in this database contains reports for individual locations where sewage was discharged from a Private Lateral Sewage Discharge (PLSD) event voluntarily reported in accordance with the Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirements for Sanitary Sewer Systems Order, WQO No. 2006-0003-DWQ (the Statewide Sanitary Sewer Order). A PLSD incident may result in discharges from multiple locations and have more than one PLSD report in the database. The data used to display the PLSD reports on these maps is dynamic and may change without notice, based on the latest information for PLSD reports (certified or amended reports only) from individual agencies enrolled under the Statewide Sanitary Sewer Order. The State Water Resources Control Board and Regional Water Quality Control Boards provide a hosting service of all PLSD reports and have "view only" access to this information. For specific questions related to PLSD incidents or PLSD reports, please contact the appropriate indicated reporting agency or responsible party.
