Shasta River Watershed Curtailment Orders and Addendums for 2025 Scott-Shasta Emergency Regulations
Curtailment Status:
Scott and Shasta Watersheds- Opportunity to divert for Inefficient Livestock Watering Effective November 22, 2024, prohibition on inefficient livestock watering may be suspended under the conditions outlined in the Regulation section 875.7. Parties that want to divert for livestock need to confirm all the criteria outlined in the Emergency Regulation is met before diverting surface water for livestock.
Shasta River Watershed Curtailment Status: Effective June 27, 2025, as ordered in Addendum 4 to Order WR 2024-006-DWR conditional curtailments are reinstated for water right holders junior to November 1, 1912 and are directed to work with the Scott Valley and Shasta Valley Watermaster District (Watermaster) and State Water Board, as appropriate, and if necessary curtail in order of priority to ensure the required minimum flows are met and sustained at the Yreka United States Geological Survey (USGS) gage. Water Rights junior to January 1, 1958 have additional conditions that need to be met before they may divert, as outlined in Addendum 4. The required minimum flow at the Yreka USGS gage for July 1 – September 15 is 50 cubic feet per second (cfs). If you plan to divert surface water for inefficient livestock irrigation, it is required that the necessary criteria be met as outlined in the Addendum and Emergency Regulation section 875.7. (b).
