Vector Control

This Vector Control Permit covers the point source discharge of biological and residual chemical pesticides to waters of the U.S. resulting from direct and spray applications for vector control. This permit only covers larvicides and adulticides that are currently registered by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.

On October 4, 2022, the State Water Board Executive Director approved an amendment to Water Quality Order 2016-0039-DWQ to add pyriproxyfen to the list of approved active ingredients in the permit and to add all pertaining findings, monitoring and reporting requirements.

Current Permit

On March 1, 2016, the State Water Board adopted the Vector Control Permit (Water Quality Order 2016-0039-DWQ). On October 4, 2022, the State Water Board Executive Director approved Water Quality Order 2022-0077-DWQ which adds the active ingredient pyriproxyfen and all pertaining findings, monitoring and reporting requirements to Water Quality Order 2016-0039-DWQ.

Please Note: The California Water Code requires the State Water Board to adjust the fees each fiscal year to conform with the revenue levels set forth in the California Budget Act. Thus, the fees could change every year.

Ex Parte Disclosure Requirements for Pending General Orders

• Any pending Board item is subject to the ex parte communication disclosure requirements of Water Code section 13287. Any communications between interested persons and board members (other than at a noticed board meeting or submitted as a comment letter in compliance with the public notice) must be disclosed by the interested person within seven days of the communication. Sample disclosure forms are available.
  
  Beginning 14 days before scheduled adoption by the Board, ex parte communications between interested persons and board members concerning any Board item are prohibited.
