Kings River Conservation District (KRCD) is the Licensee, owner, and operator of the Jeff L. Taylor-Pine Flat Hydroelectric Project (Project), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Project No. 2741. The Project is located on the Kings River approximately 200 feet downriver of the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Pine Flat Dam near the town of Fresno County, California. The 165-megawatt Project includes three powerhouses, a transmission and switching yard, and a water bypass system for when releases from Pine Flat Dam are too low to generate power. The Project does not include Pine Flat Dam.
On December 20. 2022, the State Water Resources Control Board issued a water quality certification for KRCD to add a new low-flow generation unit to the Project that can operate on flows up to 385 cubic feet per second.
