| BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Assist public water systems in financing the cost of drinking water infrastructure projects needed to achieve or maintain compliance with Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) requirements and to further the public health objectives of the SDWA, including but not limited to replacement of defective water meters, treatment for primary and secondary Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs), replacement of aged water transmission or distribution tanks and mains, groundwater wells or other infrastructure. Also includes soft cost such as legal, planning, preliminary engineering, design, water sources, interconnections, consolidations, acquisition of water systems, purchase of land or equipment, and extending service to residents currently served by individual wells or surface water sources. | |||
